5.5.22 Meetup guest speaker: April Havlin
April Havlin started House of Hope in 2001 after speaking to a group of trafficked women and receiving inspiration about the tremendous need to help young girls and women trapped in brothels in Latin America experience transformation. House of Hope originated in Managua, Nicaragua with vocational training to help the women and young girls learn how to make money in a dignified way. Later on, a residential program was started as well as a graduate program and micro-business grants. In 2013, the women who successfully went through the program were sent to Honduras to start the same ministry work there, and later in 2014 House of Hope was brought to Bolivia. House of Hope’s mission is the integration of women and their children into society, transformed through the power of healing and complete discipleship and vocational training within a safe, loving, and serving community.
